MODELISTE INTERNSHIP
Savoir Faire -
This is the piece I created during my internship in the atelier of Lecourt Mansion as a modéliste.
01 Pattern Development: I collaborate closely with the designer to understand their vision and translate it into tangible patterns. Using their sketches or specifications, I create the initial patterns for garments through moulage.
02 Pattern Adjustments: Throughout the development process, I make adjustments to the patterns based on feedback from the designer, testing sessions, and garment prototypes.
03 Sample Garment Construction: Once the patterns are done, I work on constructing sample garments. This includes cutting the fabric, sewing the pieces together, and ensuring proper seam allowances and finishing techniques by hand.
04 Fitting and Alterations: During fitting sessions, I collaborate with the designer and models to evaluate the fit and appearance of the sample garments.
05 Throughout the internship, I work closely with the designer, and other professionals in the atelier to ensure a smooth workflow and effective communication.
Overall, my role as an intern in the atelier as a modéliste involved contributing to the development and production of garments, ensuring accurate patterns, constructing sample garments, and collaborating with the designer and other professionals.
It's an exciting and challenging role that allows me to refine my skills in patternmaking and garment construction while being a part of the creative fashion process.
